The 2018 Limited Edition Collectors Ornament
The fifteenth annual Christmas in St. Michaels Collectors Ornament shows the local landmark Honeymoon Bridge, a popular footbridge connecting the town with Navy Point and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Initial artwork for the ornament was created by local artist Joanne Buritsch.
The wooden bridge, dating originally to the late 1800s and subsequently rebuilt multiple times, appears in many historical paintings and photographs of the area and continues to be a popular backdrop for bridal photographs. Most recently it has become a focal point for St. Michaels in Bloom, an ongoing effort to dress the town in local plants and flowers much like those depicted here.
