The 2019 Limited Edition Collectors Ornament

The sixteenth annual Christmas in St. Michaels Collectors Ornament was created from an original drawing by local artist Joanne Buritsch. It features our hometown Santa and Mrs. Claus portrayed by the same local couple for the last 21 years. Every year, they arrive at the end of the Christmas parade, riding in their antique one-horse sleigh and officially kicking off the holiday season in St. Michaels.

Many distinctive touches make our St. Michaels Santa unique. The sleigh is an authentic one-horse sleigh from the early 1900s. Santa’s suit was professionally tailored and inspired by a Russian Santa Claus. Red silk velvet and Mongolian fur enrich its look. Mrs. Claus’s costume is a replica of an 1800s skating costume, designed and made by Mrs. Claus herself. Their walking sticks were found in Vermont and Santa will tell you with a twinkle in his eye, “The power of Santa is in that stick — do you feel it?” Believe!
