2021 Limited Edition Collectors Ornament
The eighteenth annual Christmas in St Michael Limited Edition Collectors Ornament features Maggie the Fire Truck. Her image was rendered by designer and artist Scott Sullivan.
Maggie is the symbol of the St Michaels Fire Department (SMFD). This totally volunteer group was originally organized on February 11, 1901. This year it is celebrating 120 years of community service to the Bay Hundred Area.
Maggie was purchased in 1926 as an REO Speed Wagon and was in use at fires until the 1950s. She is a local legend with an interesting history. It is said one of the firemen spent so much time with her his wife started calling her Maggie, the “other” woman. Today she operates at parades and local festivals.
